I grew up with Dennis and his brother Stephen. Stephen and I were classmates, as was Skipper Miller, at St. Agnes Parochial School in Old Jefferson, and he, Stephen and I attended Archbishop Rummel High School together.
Dennis, Skipper and I were thick as thieves Dennis’s high school junior year and Skip and my senior year. I remember when Dennis started dating Susan, when we spent time at her home having fun with her mom.
Then came college. Dennis and Skip finished at UNO and I finished at UL-Lafayette (then known as the University of Southwestern Louisiana). My wife, Monica, and I married in September 1970, the last time I remember seeing Dennis.
He was a highly intelligent guy, gifted artistically and in many other ways, full of common sense, and at the same time an unconventional thinker, with a very sharp sense of humor. In witnessing his interactions with his mom, I thought I was seeing a true battle of wits, of two keen intellects trying to gain the advantage.
I’m sorry I lost contact with him. He was the kind of guy deserving of sticking with for the long haul. Skipper tried to get us together a few years back, but for some reason it just didn’t work out. Condolences to Susan and the rest of the family.
I wish that we could all be together to remember Dennis' exceptional kindness and warm welcome. Our thoughts are with you all. Virginia, Eyal and family.
It was a great gift to be allowed in Barn 11 courtesy of Cuz. Dennis was a class act and a gentleman. Robin, my deepest condolences to you and your family. Margaret Morley
I will miss the visits to Barn 11, the interesting conversations on the eve of the annual Cochon de lait, and the wild and wonderful spirit you were. Rest In Peace Dennis, you deserve it.. Cheers…
We will miss you Uncle Dennis. Wish we could have made it to the farm for one last pig roast with you!
With much love, Melanie and Tray Wood

Dennis will be missed very much. He was always joy to be around. He had a dream and made it happen.
Susan, my heart goes out to you. Keep his memories front and center and he will always be with you. Love you both. Bertin & RayAnn
Dennis was always the life of the party… made everyone smile and laugh… to Susan, Robin, Jane and Stephen…all my love and sympathy and prayers!
In my memory, Mr. Dennis was always an interesting character. He had a wonderful personality and a hilarious Arnold impersonation. I miss visiting the farm. My heart goes out to Susan, Robin and the entire family.
The world will be a much less intriguing and fun place without you in it, Uncle Dennis. You were part of so many incredible moments and memories and truly inspired me in so many ways. You taught me that being different is cool; to learn about anything and everything; to lead by example but follow with pride too; to love and enjoy every moment; to stir that drink with your finger- adds extra flavor and love!!! I will miss you and thank you for being my uncle too for the past 22 years. ♥️
My deepest sympathies go out to Susan, Robin and all of Dennis's family. Dennis was an integral part of our Amerchol-Greensburg family and will be missed. We count him as family and mourn his passing. Dennis was a good man to have as a shift relief and I always appreciated him. We keep you all in our prayers.
So sorry for your loss, Prayer for Susan and Robin
Next time around my friend

Dennis, you will be missed and all the fun memories that we have from bull sprig farm I will always hold dear to my heart. Every thing from witnessing you give birth to a calf when I was a child to hiding in between the hay bails from my cousins in our hide-and-seek games. To a recent memories of pig roasts and this past Thanksgiving -you carving the turkey. Love you!
Love you, Dennis. Best Uncle ever.
Going to miss you Dennis.
